New Bond trailer; poster for "The Dark Knight"

I hate to take attention away from my review of Wall-E (below) because I'm really interested to know what you think, but I couldn't help but post the following two items:
  1. Warner Bros. has released what will likely be one of the final posters for the upcoming The Dark Knight. The more I see of this movie, the darker it looks like it's going to be. Wendy and I got our tickets to see it on the IMAX on July 19, which I can't wait for. Click here for a bigger, creepier version.
  2. Yesterday the first trailer for the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, was released. When I watched the trailer for the first time, it gave me the chills. Although time will tell how the movie itself turns out, the trailer itself is a perfect mix of the revenge-centric plot, the ongoing evolution of Bond's personna, and the Bourne-inspired action. Casino Royale was the best thing to happen to the Bond franchise since Sean Connery; Solace looks like it will continue the franchise's reinvention. November 7 can't come soon enough.

Do I smell a Bourne knock-off or is it just me? This particular Bond trailer gives a very similar feel to the Bourne movies... hmmm... "confused about who I am" dashing (young) man... both characters used to hearing their last names, cuz it sounds better than James! or Jason!... AH, the initials MATCH! Anyway, back to my point; I never saw Casino Royale, but now I'm intrigued to watch it. Wasn't it better than the other Bond films? That's what I remember hearing. I have to say, I'm not much of an action movie type. Here's why: because I despise the overly Hollywood-ized acting/ sets/ (some occasions) costumes or wardrobe/ overuse of fast cars and loud explosions and needless love scenes, even the extinction of chemistry between the love interests can ruin it... but, really, who can honestly survive that much "shtuff" without a bite to eat, a wink of sleep, and/or without using the comfort station? I guess I enjoy a story I can relate to in some inkling. Action movies are usually way too unbelievable in my opinion.
However. Even though you don't see Bourne doing any re-fueling, I loved all 3 Bourne movies so much, (in fact, who ISN'T trying to discover themselves, in some way, shape, or form? It's a constant rythym). As long as this Bond guy can capture or resemble the essence of Bourne, (but doesn't end up being a knock-off), I'll be happy to attend the viewing.
Oh, and I don't have to be a JB fan to enjoy these, right? That Brosnan dude kinda ruined it for me, so... encouragement might help. :)

Oh! About the Batman... I can't wait to see it. I have to hunt down the nearest IMAX, ASAP. "Like, holy rusted metal, Batman!"
Since there has to be darkness to know the light, there has to be a Joker to know the Batman.
That. Was. Lame.

Sniff, sniff... is something bourneing? Classic Bond fan here. It appears that the way in which Bond's character is portrayed in the on-going Bond saga has as many twists and turns as the films themselves. This evolution of Bond does look somewhat familiar. Being the Bourne and Bond fan that I am I hope that this film will hit a note not yet struck with previous Bond's and not be an action knock-off that duplicates the stylings of the Bourne Trio soon to be quartet. Once again, hoping for a knock -out not a knock-off. I wonder if that was a title consideration for the next Bourne, The Bourne Quantum?

Just hearing the Bond theme makes my heart rate speed up. I can't wait! No amount of kids at home is going to stop me from getting to this movie while it is still in the theater.

I'm a huge fan of Daniel Craig as Bond. Which was a surprise to me. So clearly I'm excited to see Quantum of Solace, although still not crazy about the name.

Dark Knight looks incredible. I love the direction they've taken to revive this franchise. Turns out Batman isn't for kids anymore. But this adult is loving it.

I really enjoyed Casino Royale and thought Daniel Craig did a fabulous job. I'm interested to see how the next installment goes. Hope it's just as good (if not better) than the last.
