Scratching my head

Jackie Chan was apparently quoted recently as saying ""I spent four months making [Rush Hour 3] and I still don't fully understand the humor."

I spent about four minutes in the theater and realized that I wouldn't ever understand the humor. The main difference between me and Jackie is that I didn't get paid millions to pretend like I got the joke.

I'm sorry Justin, but I don't understand. If you liked the first two and the third is just like the first two, why you wouldn't like the third?

I should blacklist you for even thinking about questioning my authority!

I never said that "Rush Hour 3" was just like the first two, only that it was telling the same story and the same old jokes. Making fun of Jackie Chan's English was funny the first time. Chris Tucker impersonating Michael Jackson was funny the first time. The jokes were the same in "Rush Hour 2," but at least that one had some decent fights. (Furthermore, I never said that the first two "Rush Hour" movies were all that great in the first place.)

At some point you wish that a comedy sequel will bring something fresh so that you don't feel like you're watching an uninspired retread of the same jokes.
